KHYBER AGENCY: Pakistani law enforcers handed over four Afghan nationals – arrested from Peshawar on suspicion
of their affiliation with the Daesh terrorist organisation – to Afghan authorities at the Torkham border crossing.
The alleged terrorists, identified as Javed Khan, Naimat
ullah alias Hamidullah, Taleyman and Saif
ullah alias Khan Baba, all from Chaparhar district of Nangarhar province, wer
e presented before the media on Tuesday by the Political Administration officials at the Michni checkpost, located on a hilltop in Khyber Agency.
Speaking on the occasion, Khyber Assistant Political Agent (APA) Niaz Muhammad said that the four men had been arrested by Pakistani law enforcers from Peshawar, where they were hiding after illegally crossing into Pakistan in an attempt to get medical treatment.
“Apparently these persons were injured in fighting alongside Daesh militants against the Afghan security forces in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province. Working on a tip-off, the Pakistani security forces were able to swiftly locate and arrest the said terrorists,” he said.
The APA added that following a close liaison and mutual understanding with the Afghan government, the alleged terrorists would be handed over to the Afghan border officials. “The Afghan government will award punishment to the militants as per the law
of that land,” Muhammad Niaz added.
He said that the Pakistani government and i
ts security forces were committed to taking indiscriminate
action against all anti-state elements anywhere in the country.
